A Very Bad 21st Birthday Resolution

Turning 21 in 2 days!  How does it feels like? Truthfully, I am not looking forward to it. (WHY?) Reason being, I hate the idea of growing up. It means leaving your kidhood and stepping into a real adult (urgh) hood.

I enjoy the idea of being young and how people always tell me omg-you-look-like-you-are-18 and how I'll balloon up with joy -Yay I LOOK young- but the reality is I'm 20.

I look at my friends and to me, they are whom they are when I met them 4 or 2 years ago. Just like how my Junior College mates will always be 18 years old to me regardless of how MATURE (they claim to be) they are now.

2 years ago, I was ogling at handbags and pencil heels when I scoot pass shops and wish how I can own those killer heels although I know I don't need them at that time.

Like who in the bloodyhell needs a pair of stilettos when all you wear is green fugly uniform and brown sleese shoes (those were so trendy in 2006 ok!) 6 DAYS per WEEK?? Of course I was like the good girl (I was a student councilor please) so it means I had no late night parties and clubbing and whatever was hip and happening out there in 2006-2007 does not involve me. So again, I had no reason to buy anything although I wish that I can grow up faster (kuakuakua the irony) so that I can get to have my little piece of heaven freedom.

Now, 20, I have -thank god- freedom, and most of the things I want. An iPhone, an iPod, a Gucci tote, an LV summer canvas tote (pink!), my dream course, and a job (haha).

But honestly, I wished my parents had given me more freedom. I don't know what's Fun. What IS fun. HOW to have fun. I spent 6 days in school and I feel more stupid than ever now -the irony, again-. I want to try things. I want to learn new things. But all these were halted, thanks to my folks.

Now that I am 20 (going to be 21 in 2 days!) I feel like I am going to be more rebellious than ever. I am going to do the naughty things now. I think this is a very bad 21st birthday resolution, but heck it.

No, I'm not going to start looting stores.

I am just doing things that will make me whom I want to be or whom I imagine to be when I am 10 years from now.

It's ok to be bad, right? The good kind of Bad? Hmmm.. *scratch head*

love,
Faa

Saying hi, from China.

God Is...

Why are we so particular who calls whose god "Allah"?

God loves you regardless of who you are.

If Allah means god to you, so be it. What's with the destructive beahviour?

To call yourself Muslims and act in such barbaric manners is just beyond disgust.

Where's your faith? Who do you follow and what do you believe in?

Terrorising people for the sake of relishing your satisfication and make it seem like it is these godforsaken people's fault for using the word Allah!

I really hope you people realise who you are messing with. Somehow, this incident shows that Christians are more compasionate and forgiving.

They (Xtians) can always shove bombs into our mosques to seek justice, but did they??

May you terrorists burn in hell.

Meet Me When I'm 30 Years Old

How do you like to see yourself when you are 30 years old?

Spotted on the highway driving a thrilling white Audi TTS Roadster ride with the snazziest cell phone docked on your car's dashboard while you put on a humble smile as taxi drivers, family cars and Ah Peck bus drivers swoon over you and your car.
Do you want this?

The truth is, everybody wants a share of happiness, money-loadedness and expensive toys to embellish their very lives. We have desires, wants, dreams and goals. Remember the time when your primary school teacher asked you to write a composition on 'What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up' and some said Doctor, others wrote lawyers, a few would have chosen Firemen or even Policemen, but regardless of the occupation, we all have our own ambitions and dreams - all at at a very young age.

I will share with you what I always wanted to be.

1. A doctor when I was 6 years old.
2. A renowned musician. 13 years old.
3. A Chemistry teacher. 16 years old.
4. A Gynecologist 16 years old.
5. An Accountant 18 years old.
6. A Businesswoman 20 years old
7. A Restaurant Owner 2o years old.

Seems good that I had planned what I wanted to be . But it shows too much that I was sort of glazing pass my life with almost 7 different dreams that I want to be in the future.

For this, I cannot forgive myself because it just shows that I am too ambitious and was totally unsure of where to land by the time I am 30 years old.

I am 2 decades old and this 26th January, I'll be hitting the prime age of 21. I think it's the most perfect age to really start on something solid. Imagine working on a 'project' that is due in 10 years time!!

My personal advise to myself and all of you is to continue learning, accept all failures and never stop trying.

Because 10 years later I would want to see myself writing this:

Dear Blog,

Life is great so far. I just turned 30 years old yesterday! Being 30 sure feels old but it doesn't matter one cent! (Insert Birthday Pictures here) We wined and dined alfresco style at
It's The Flavour Restaurant, just 3 blocks away from our home. Their creme brulee is fantastic!

Right now I am in Australia home as I am writing this. Snuggled in my little humble home as Z is out in our restaurant meeting up with the new suppliers. Did I mention that I gotten new rims for the car. Costs a big bomb but heck it!

Also, looking at the stock rates now, I might just land on a $100,000 moolah. This is incredible, my money has not gone to waste! This means that I can afford to draw up another business model and execute it by the end of this year.

Grr, my workload just doubled and hopefully I get another promotion because I think I've been working the hardest among my other Accountant colleagues. Oh no, mum is on Skype and she is calling me. Prolly want to ask me if she and dad could come down for a visit next month. That is their version of a holiday by the way and they just love scooting around the neighbourhood in MY car (and the new rims!)... I'd throw them a couple of thousands to spend on while they are here so that would keep them occupied while I am away at work.

Oh, I hear the door open, Z le chef is back! Will blog more after my trip to China next week.

xoxo Faa.

So, what are your plans for today? You got to inspire yourself if you are still lost.

What do you enjoy doing?
How can you benefit by making a business out of your hobby?
Have you liked the idea of being your own boss?
Would you like to own an Audi TT Roadster too?
Ever dreamed of travelling all around the world?

Ask yourself these questions and work towards obtaining them, as I am working on mine.

:)

To your success,
Faa

Before I Sleep...

2 more minutes to midnight! And look what I am doing now!
Snapping grainy (bleh!) pictures and looking like a ween!

Well ofcourse on other days I look damn fantastic like this:

^^"

But tonight I feel so lousy (ah pui!) because school officially began and how I wish a can STOP time (it just turned 12AM as I am typing this!)

So tonight, I am going to waste my time and savor whatever is left of the school holidays. And to celebrate the new term, I bought a new ribbon with elastic band. Freaking awesome because I managed to find matching checkered PANTS with it to wear to work / school tomorrow.

Yes, I have a blue ribboned hair band too! (bought it 2 months ago but didn't wear it because it makes me look like a 7 year old girl 0_0 )

See, looks like I AM practicing to smile and this means that one of the 2010 resolutions is DONE. The only thing left is to DO IT CONSTANTLY throughout the year. Ok, that was easy.

Right. Boo boo's going to bed now. Be good everyone!

Taa :)

Back To School & I Love School, Totally!

Oh yessa. It has been a rather wet 2010 for the last 2 days. Afternoon showers certainly did not perk up the first 2010 weekend.

School term starts on the 4th of January for most of us school-going-people.

Are you one of those who shares a love/hate relationship with school holidays? Like, you KNOW you like holidays, but now that you have spent 2 whole month doing godknowswhat, you feel like you have bummed the entire hols and Yessa! Your instincts tell you that dang you wish school starts like, tomorrow.

And now that you are actually actually 1 day away from the new term, you wished you could swallow every moment back.

That is me.

New school term is terrifying, because it means the trains and buses will be crowded -again- with (pain in the ass) kiddies.

I'm in the midst of prep-ing for Monday. This means new shoes, bags, organizers, pencil boxes and a load of other junks that I wish would fit into my mini grey sling tote handbag.

But you are speaking to an accountant to be, so I made a cash journal, income statement and balance sheet to monitor my little back-to-school shopping escapade! Ok I was just kidding.

So looking at my little shopping list, I am going to skip new heels and new handbags and pencil box. For now. (And not to mention, I actually decided to continue using my 2009 weekly planner because 1) there are still plenty of pages unused and 2) It's godfkingcute, really. )

WTF I haven't print my notes and the I had to get bloody new catridge for my printer which costs $100! Fking rip off! Ok la, $100 is still OK compared to my $4k semester fees. FML.

Happy New Year to all!

How To Take Great Pictures With Your iPhone 3GS

How to take great pictures with your iPhone 3Gs?

Is it even possible?

I cringe at the thought of trading my 5 mega pix Samsung Omnia for a 3 mega pix of iPhone. Amazingly, I do not own a P&S (point and shoot) digital card-sized camera because I hate the thought of lounging it everywhere I go and the woes of charging them regularly. Plus, I can't be discrete with my shoots and somehow you might find me a cheapo who refuses to own a real camera but instead chooses to live by the years of photography with the Samsung Omnia.

Many have yet to realize this, but the pictures from the above mentioned phone is beyond fabulousness! Crystal clear and shoots perfectly like a $500 rip off Digital camera , especially with good lighting!

I cringed again and feel sorry for my 3 mega pix iPhone camera. That's when I discovered few FREE applications that really works like magic on iPhone to produce excellent picture quality!

There are applications to (you have to find them yourself ;) Hint: they are REALLY FREE) :

1. Double the mega pixels - 3 MP to 6 MP!

2. Zoom to the smallest detail. Works like Macro shots too, which original iPhone camera function is totally incapable of. What a shame.

3. Lomo effect. This I love so much.

4. Create Polaroids shots. I rate it 5 stars!

5. And 10~20 different picture effect. Definitely beats those digital camera hands down!

(Vintage film example)

I took this test shot from the bus stop:

...and I was breathless with the picture. It looks almost perfect.

The only thumbs down for this is the battery span of the phone itself. A few runs of shots will bring your battery level down by 20~30% in less than half an hour! Pretty horrible if you are planning to take your darling iPhone out for a photo snapshooting.

I will share more pictures from my phone soon :)

So instead, I'm going to skip the thought of getting a digital camera and jump straight to a semi-pro slr. SUPAAA!

Can't wait to get my hands on one :

or what do you recommend ?
